This station master's house is based on the house that sat alongside the Applethorpe station up on the Granite Belt. This design was common across the state for station master's houses as well as schools and police stations.
Raised high on stumps, with a steep set of steps leading up to the verandah and a separate kitchen building connected by a covered walkway. This was necessary to help prevent fires spreading from the kitchen to the rest of the house.
We’ve modelled the distinctive details — like the louvered windows on the verandah, the pressed metal window hoods, the kitchen stove recess and the corrugated iron covered walkway between the house and the kitchen. Two rainwater tanks on high tank stands are included and printed as part of the building. These can be snipped away to allow the walkway and kitchen stairs to be painted then positioned back under the downpipes.
There are rebates in the print so the clear windows slot neatly into place and simply peel off the backing from the sticky backed frames and place over the windows
Available in HO and N scale.
